How to Use These Grids
Whether you are organising small-group reading in school, planning early reading interventions, or choosing a book for bedtime reading at home, simply locate your programme below. The grids map each Tip Top Phonics title directly to the phase, unit, or week being taught, making it effortless to pick a book that perfectly reinforces the sounds your children are learning right now.

Tip Top Phonics Set 1 introduces sounds in a gradual, cumulative sequence starting with just five initial sounds: s, a, t, i, m. Sounds are added cumulatively throughout the eight books in Set 1, allowing children to read complete, satisfying stories from their very first weeks of formal phonics instruction.
When reading is limited to only four or five books per sound set, children can quickly run out of practice material. Supplementary decodables bridge that gap
Because our progression maps closely to the cumulative sequence of major schemes, they provide supplementary reading variety while upholding complete fidelity to the taught code.
